Dependency Drug Court

Program Overview

The mission of the Dependency Drug Court program is to create a nonadversarial legal environment that promotes Solano County parent’s successful utilization of substance abuse and/or alcohol treatment services in order to reunify with their children who have been removed from their care.

The Dependency Drug Court Team

The Dependency Drug Court program is a collaborative program of unique relationships that forge the Dependency Drug Court Team including:

  • Solano Superior Court
  • County Counsel
  • Public Defender
  • Minors Counsel
  • Conflict Defender
  • Participating Parents Attorneys
  • Child Welfare Services
  • Treatment Service Providers

The Team utilizes evidence-based practices, which include the Eleven Key Elements of a Family Treatment Drug Court, which promotes recovery through a coordinated response to a client’s dependence upon alcohol and substances. The authority and personal involvement of the judge, in conjunction with the Team, support successful intervention and ultimately reunification of clients with their children.
