Scam Alert

Be Aware… Several citizens have recently reported that they have received telephone calls from a person claiming to be a Court employee in the Jury Services Department or an employee of the Sheriff’s office. The imposter, who falsely represents himself as a court employee or Sheriff, tells the citizen they have missed their jury duty and that a warrant is now out for their arrest. The impostor says if they pay him hundreds of dollars, the matter will be resolved. The imposter may ask for your personal information.

The legitimate staff of the superior court and Sheriff’s office do not call past or prospective jurors by telephone for financial information such as credit card, and bank account information or personal information like Social Security Numbers or to collect money. Please do not provide information to anyone claiming to be associated with the court. Instead, report the call to your local police department.

Valuable information regarding identity theft and how to protect yourself can be found on a website created by the Federal Trade Commission.
