Delinquency cases are criminal in nature, alleging violations of the law by persons under 18 years of age. Proceedings are filed pursuant to Welfare & Institutions Code Section 602.
Delinquency cases can result in long-term probation, out of home placement in a group home or youth facility, or even commitment to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).
