Two new types of public benefits have been added to the list in section 68632(a): California Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC Program) and unemployment compensation. An individual receiving either of those, or benefits from any of the other listed programs, is eligible for a fee waiver. The income levels referenced in section 68632(b) have been substantially increased. Previously, an individual whose monthly income was 125% or less of the federal poverty guidelines as set out in the Federal Register was eligible for a fee waiver.
