Court Announces Retirement of Hon. Raymond C. Wieser, Jr.

Fairfield, California – The Superior Court of California, County of Solano announces the retirement of the Hon. Raymond C. Wieser, Jr. after almost 24 years on the bench, effective August 30, 2019. Commissioner Wieser was appointed by the Solano Judges to the Solano Superior Court in October 1995. He currently serves in Department 24 at the Vallejo Courthouse presiding primarily over criminal and traffic matters.

Commissioner Wieser received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 1982. He went on to attend the Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, earning his Juris Doctorate in 1986.

Commissioner Kim served as a Deputy District Attorney for Inyo County from 2002 to 2005. In 2005, until his appointment as Commissioner, he served as a Deputy District Attorney for the Solano County District Attorney’s Office. His assignments have included handling gang crimes, major narcotics, prison crimes and serious felony matters.

Commissioner Wieser worked at the law firm of Laughlin, Falbo, Levy and Moresi, a general civil litigation and workers compensation firm in San Francisco from 1986 to 1988. He became a Deputy District Attorney for the Solano County District Attorney’s Office in 1988 until his appointment as a commissioner in 1995.

Commissioner Wieser started the Real DUI Court in Schools Program, which brings real trials to high school students to learn about the consequences of drinking and driving. He has coached youth sports throughout his career and will continue to coach competitive swimming for DART Swim Club in Davis after his retirement.

Commissioner Wieser was born in Evanston, Illinois to Raymond and Maureen Wieser, Sr. He has been married to Catherine for 31 years and they have four children: Raymond III, Devin, Natalie and Christopher.
