Pre-grants and probate examination notes are available on new probate petitions, spousal property petitions, final distribution petitions and other selected probate matters. To access the notes/intended rulings online, please click on the "Civil Tentative Ruling" button, then click the department where the hearing is set. The examining notes will be displayed below any tentative rulings.
To access the notes/pre-grant rulings by telephone, please call the tentative ruling number at (707) 207-7331. If you are satisfied with the intended ruling, your appearance at the hearing is not required. You need only submit an order for the Court's signature.
If your case is not included in the notes/rulings, you will need to appear.
If there is a deficiency in the pleadings, you will need to appear at the hearing. If you need time to correct the error or submit additional documentation in support of your petition, please notify the judicial assistant for that department no later than 4:30 p.m. one court day preceding the hearing.

Ex parte applications on guardianships are heard by appointment only. If an ex parte application is necessary, please bring the ex parte application to Department 14 for screening Monday through Friday at 1:00 p.m. Ex parte applications are heard Monday through Friday between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
The Solano County Superior Court has created a self-help video to assist petitioners who are filing guardianship actions without the assistance of an attorney. The video is 28 minutes in length and can be purchased in the Family Law/Probate/Adoptions Division of the court for $6.00. The video is also available for viewing online at www.cc-courthelp.org. It covers the forms to file, the relatives who must be served, how to serve them, and the guardianship hearing. Conservatorships of adults who are unable to provide for their personal needs or manage their financial resources are heard by Judge Cynda Unger in Department 5 on Monday afternoons at 2:00 p.m.. LPS conservatorships are heard on Monday mornings at 9:00 a.m. by Judge David Edwin Power in Department 11. Both Judge Unger's and Judge Power's courtrooms are located on the 3rd floor of the Hall of Justice, 600 Union Avenue, Fairfield, California. When the court chooses you as a conservator, you are responsible to the court. You take on certain jobs and responsibilities. The court can examine everything you do as a conservator. It's important that you understand all the duties required of a conservator. You can get more information in the Judicial Council Handbook for Conservators. The law says you must have a copy of this handbook. You can purchase a copy of the Handbook for Conservators in the office of clerk of the superior in your county. Each superior court will prepare a local supplement to this handbook called the Directory of Community Resources. Ask the clerk of the superior court in your county for the Directory of Community Resources. The cost for purchasing both the Handbook for Conservators and the Directory of Community Resources is $20.

Drop Box Information
Effective, January 14, 2013, our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The number of documents processed per person, law firm or filing agency will be limited to five (5) between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. The only exception to the five documents limit will be if there is a statute running. For your convenience, there are drop boxes located in the door to the Civil Division Clerk's Office in Vallejo, and under the stairs on the second floor in the Hall of Justice in Fairfield, for dropping filing documents after 2:00 p.m.
Documents dropped between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. will be file stamped with the same date that they were placed into the drop box. Any required filing fees or a request to waive court fees must be included. If a self-addressed, stamped envelope is provided, endorse-filed copies will be returned to you by mail. If an envelope is not provided, your copies will be available for thirty (30) days in the pick up box located in the clerk's office.
